The task
Buying a rental property can be a way to invest capital over the long term. For people considering property as an investment, the Mietrenditeatlas was intended to highlight promising regions. The task was to connect a data-driven map with an easy-to-use calculator. Users should be able to compare regional differences first, then estimate the potential yield of a specific property based on its purchase price, living area, and expected rent excluding utilities.
Outcome
The Mietrenditeatlas offers a clear, data-driven view of regional investment opportunities and supports users in making a more informed assessment of property investments. The interactive map visualizes potential rental yields. Red areas represent lower values, while green areas represent higher values. The calculator provides a more specific gross rental yield calculation based on purchase price, living area, and expected rent excluding utilities.

My role
As Innovation Manager AI (UX), I was responsible for the Mietrenditeatlas’s UX concept and UI design. I translated the complex logic of regional rental yields and property-specific calculations into a clear interface and worked with the product team as it was implemented. The result is a tool that supports users in making an initial, data-informed assessment of property investments.
